We might ask instead, “Why should we not give?” We often assume that money exists for our own benefit, rather than for God or others.
Generosity is the habit of giving freely without an expectation for anything in return. It is not solely based on one's wealth status, but also Generosity comes from the individuals pure intention of looking out for the greater good in society, and in comes from the heart. Being a giver, implies certain rules to contribute, like any role in life. Being a Generous person implies the spirit of sharing when one is in a place of abundance. Giving feels good, but being generous feels joyful. Giving is often perceived to be an Obligation, and an action, whereas Generosity is perceived to be a spirit from one's heart, and a desirable trait. In times of a disaster, relief efforts are frequently provided, voluntarily by individuals or charity groups. As can be seen by the many well famed philantrophists, generosity may seem as though it is another platform to catch the public eye and gain recognition for their good deeds. However, this positive trait should not be limited merely to times of great need, as in natural calamities, and extreme situations, it should happen in the everyday of our lives. On the other hand, if we do not have these people in abundance, who don the spirit of generosity, we might not expect our society to function as efficiently, and people would not be influenced by such great acts of kindness. The sense of humanity would be bleak and the entire society would probably be full of greed and selfishness. Generosity. Means to simply offer without expecting to be rewarded later. Is generosity indeed conditional, and endangered in the world of today, dominated by contract or economical exchanges? back to the top? |
