never try to be better than someone else
always learn from others and never cease to try to be the best that you can be (that's under your control)

if you overly worry about things you don't have control you might in turn adversely affect things which you have control

His definition of success:
peace of mind attained through self-satisfaction and knowing you make the effort of doing the best which u are capable of and trying to improve the situation

character (what you are within yourself) is much more important than reputation (what you are perceived to be)
